Graduated? Wait. What?

Holy shit all. I am done with schoolin'.

...

Like forever. College graduate. No more of it. Ever. As of 4:50 pm on December 13th 2007, I am no longer a 'student.' That. Shit. Is. Fucked. Up.

Then again everyone my age should be graduated by now, but let's face it, not everything happens as planned. But I mean... Damn.

So now that I am officially done with being schooled I am reflecting on the last 20 or so years of which I have spent a large portion of my days (and nights) at an educational institution of some sort. This goes for college, high school, Edison, Norwood, fuckin' St. Monica's even... That is a lot of fucking schoolin'. SO much time and effort put forth all for this day.

What did I do today to celebrate? Fuckin' nothing. Nothing at damn all...

AND IT WAS AMAZING. A day I basically had to myself. This whole semester seemed like a total waste all things considered. I should have graduated in the summer but because of administrative fuck ups I stuck around. It all culminated in this moment. I AM DONE. GRADUATED. FINISHED. FREE. I am looking forward to this break, my vacation, my independent films next semester, spring training for the Sox (my Sox) and just having to worry about my full time job for the most part.

Anyway. I have work in the morning but I thought I'd let you know that it has been a fun four years in college (and on this blog). College is over and the rest is about to begin. As always, I will keep you posted...

I'm Going to Nawlins...

I don't do this kind of thing but I just purchased a ticket and hotel room for four days and nights in the French Quarter of New Orleans for the day after Christmas...

Matt and I will be tourists in the day and debauchees at night. It will be truly thrilling. He called me up monday night and told me he was in need of a spontaneous action so he was thinking about flying to New Orleans. He invited me and I could not turn it down. I am very excited to spend this time away from some things. Just me and my bro in a place neither of us has been for four days gallivanting around like two brothers should. Pics and videos should be a plenty.

I shot what could be my final 'Columbia-funded' project this weekend all around the city. We shot on the HVX200 with P2 cards and it looked... amazing. I hope to put screen shots up here soon to show how great the representation is on this form of video. The footage turned out so film-like that I could see why so many people are transitioning to this form of media so quickly.

We're looking to have a rough cut done in the next few weeks and then an editor is cutting is for a final cut next semester. It was a tough shoot because of the long days but we had a great crew and a patient cast. It was a great experience and I can't wait to see a final version.

Talk to you in Nawlins...
