I am 21.

It has been a http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifweek since I turned that age. I feel no different. But I have done many 21-related activities already.

I saw Mazarin @ Schubas.
My Birthdahttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gify Bash was... I don't really remember.
I saw the Books (W/ Death Vessel) @ Schubas as well.

All events were awesome and amazing. I actually have lost all desire to write this entry after expending energy to get those damn links up for you. So enjoy those.

Anyway. I am getting my ass kicked by my classes, but thanks in part to Vicky, I have been able to put it in perspective. Though I may not get straight A's this semester, I will have the satisfaction of actually LEARNING A BILLION THINGS... Then again, I am a master of rationalization. I have already directed one film and am on my way to directing three more in the next week. It was awesome having people see my first film and come to me wanting me as their director/DP. Film school is hard.

Vicky... Vicky is candy. She is shiny and she is tolerant of me. ^_^

I have way too much homework to continue on, but I'll leave you with this...

AN ELIPSES.

One of the Reasons Guys Like Me Play...

Kirby Puckett passed away yesterday and all I can say is that he gave hundreds of stocky guys like myself hope. Guys who have been told they're not big enough or even good enough to play baseball. I'm glad to say that I got the chance to play at Kirby Puckett field at Triton here in his hometown of Chicago at least a few times. Here's to you, Kirby.

Long Time No Blog...

Heyall. I've been busy...

School is crazy, Vicky and I are good, therapy started for me shoulder and my birthday bash is one week away...

My classes are individually awesome, but together, they form a beast that will bring me to the edge of death and then I will eventually conquer them, but not before losing a limb or two...

I took Vicky to the Ballet for Valentine's Day and it was great. We got all dressed up and went downtown to see Romeo & Juliet performed by the Joffrey Ballet. Though the third act was slow and actionless, the first two were gorgeous and fun to watch. But the best part was getting all dolled up. After a month of being a shut in thanks to my surgery, it was fucking sweet to get dressed up and to wear a coat without a sling on my arm. Which brings me to...

My surgery. Rehab just started and I actually have an appointment for my third session in about 5 hours. So, really, I should totally be asleep... But I'm not. I have close to full range of motion back but I can still feel right through the muscle onto the bone because my arm is still so weak and atrophied...

I will be 21 in five days. Derrick and Steve are intent on getting me blasted while we are in Abby Springs (refer to this and this) next weekend. I'm kinda nervous as to how this will pan out because this place, though awesome and huge, was not exactly built to house 12-13 roudy people. But the golf cart will prove to be fun and relaxing with friends next to a fire while drinking some wine and whatnot is really what I'm looking forward to. This is why I have put, along with the normal party stuff (KMD, Postal Service, Cee-Lo, Dizzie Rascal, Tribe, Franz Ferdinand, Crystak Method, Underworld, etc...), I have spliced in a lot of mellow stuff (Iron & Wine, Simon & Garfunkel, Elliott Smith, Illyah, Stereolab, Tortoise). I want this to be as sucessful as my November party, just minus the drama.

Mariko turns 21 tomorrow and has invited me to her shindig @ her place. I'm going, but they have yet to reply to my invite. *Grrrrrrrowl*

Anyway, I should for sure be sleeping, so I will say I'm sorry for the absence, and also tell you that you should get used to it for a while.
