Flashbacks...

Putting aside all the crazy high school reunions I've has this summer, I've just recently developed another type of flashback;

'Activities I did in 2004.'

Granted, this mostly consists of doing a 30 minute work out on the Nordic Track while watching a Miyazaki film, but still. Since having my membership @ XSport, I haven't needed the damn thing in over two years. Now that the membership has come and gone and I do not yet have the funds to sign up again, I find myself craving a decent workout now and again. I started up again on the NT light and I will work my way back up to what I used to do when losing 35 lbs was only a matter of time (and depression). The first time I got on and watched 'Princess Mononoke' while working out was an odd sensation. It was a strange feeling of nostalgia and familiarity. I'm going on again in a few minutes to the sights of 'Spirited Away' and I'm sure I'll have a flood of images of the house being remodeled and Oakton baseball and Erin and the Camry etc...

Maybe it has to do with my recent re-craving for a wooded relaxation time with friends (another thing I did in 2004) or maybe it has to do with my getting rid of my Camry...

Yes. The car that I bought in 2003 from DP is now up for sale. I bought another Toyota to replace it (a '92 Celica) and keep me going for a few years. I even decided that the first thing I'd play on the stereo in my new car would be 'Source Tags and Codes' by ...And They Will Know us by the Trail of Dead. I did this for my Caravan in 2002 when I first drove and the next summer when I bought the Camry. I tried playing the mix most played in that summer ('Moving Electricity' and 'More Moving Electricity') but it just didn't have the same feel. Those mixes were for a specific person who I no longer feel that way for.

Anyway. I'm off to dabble in more nostalgia and get exercise at the same time. Tah.

Now Playing: The sound of my now 3-year-old central AC whirring to a stop.
