BLLLLLOOOOOG...

At work now and the above is something I haven't done in a while. Updates. I have two jobs. School begins tuesday (of which I am taking 18 hrs... AGAIN). So my weeks (and saturdays) are now devoted to film school, filming, answering phones and data entry. Friends and Vicky will have to be very patient. Then again, we're all busy, so it'll work out just fine.

Sooner news... I am going to have my house all to myself (now that my sister is off at IOWA) from sunday - thursday. There will be a lot of watching Miyazaki with Vicky and possibly anyone else interested in doing so all day on probably wednesday. I was thinking that an all out post on facebook to the Miyazaki club at Columbia might work, but I'm debating whether or not it will be a 'just you and I' type of thing with Vicky.

Since I have plenty of time in which to do next to nothing here @ K&L, I have been importing a lot of my mixes to the receptionist's computer. I haven't really been listening to them much for two reasons: 1. I don't listen to much in my car anymore and 2. Vicky and I are in such great shape that reminders of my past are not really necessary anymore. However, listening to them and the songs on them now ovccasionally bring me back a few years. It is so damn strange how we humans can relive specific moments in our past as though we were just reaching over to get a pen. It's that damn connection I have with this music. I just got off the phone with Erin who I haven't spoken to in forever. I was afraid that she'd left for school already, but to my delight, she will be available to party with us this upcoming week.

My dad busted his shoulder at the last family party (sub-flexer dislocation) while diving into the pool. It was kinda funny at first until I realized he wasn't kidding and then needed to help out of the pool. Oh, yeah, right underneath the damn lifeguard who just kinda sat there wondering if he should do something or just continue holding his dick for another minute. As I was helping him out of the pool, people crowded and I backed off to let the paramedics do their thing. I was looking around and when I turned back to my dad, that instant his shoulder popped back into the socket... Jesus. I only looked for a second. Damnit. He's fine, but he needs to take it easy for a few weeks.

...

Which means no more throwing program for me unless Blaszczyk stops complaining and gets off his ass and throws with me. I am very near completing this program and I will not stop for a third time. I am really dying to get back onto a baseball field. I seriously thought that whole thing had passed. I guess it's the old addage that you can take the dog out of the fight, but you can't take the fight out of the dog. Fuckin' a... I hate cliches.

Steve took me to play capture the flag with his frat from UIC last night. It was pretty damn fun until the end when people got tired and the game just kind of peetered out. I guarded that flag like ugly on ape.

So yeah. Sorry that I'm in the rut of not updating for... ever and then putting three damn novels up, but it's what I am capable of right now.

Leave me alone.

Title...

Man. Derrick titled his blog "My Cornhole Rocks Back and Forth" and I guess it made me remember how old me blog is and what was going through my head when I titled it. Weird. Not really much to elaborate on 'cept... Weird.

Anyway... Vicky, Heather and I went camping this weekend and it was awesome. We kayaked (sp?) and rafted and hiked and slept... very much freezing was the sleeping. But it was a great time. We drove about 5 hrs north into upper Wisconsin and even ended up in Michigan (the UP, anyway) at one very misdirected point. I'll have pics up on the FaceBook soon and I'll link to them here. I'm planning on putting together a little video for the three of us and Blaszczyk as well, since it kinda was HIS trip despite the fact that he McDonald'sed on us.

The first night, we attempted to grill some burgers, but kinda failed because the burgers decided to going for a fly when Heather hastily opened the package. We lost two and injured one. The injured one ended up on the grill and broke apart into many little pieces so we only had three left on the grill. Heather was flipping them and then decided one of them needed to taste like the ground and pine needles so she flipped it off the grill. Oh man. It was very nearly hilarious.

The next morning we kayaked and that was the highlight of the trip for me. Afterwards, we had a couple hours to make some lunch and chill out. Then we headed north to go rafting. Three hours of floating and about one hour of intense rafting. SO intense and awesome that we all got thrown out of the raft and then tried again. That night we chilled, ate out (due to our tragic burgers) and drank some Bacardi Melon. Oh man. Good times. Vicky and I tipsilly chilled ontop of my car and watched the stars which actually exist up there! I love Chicago, but it for sure lacks the concept of there being anything in space.

Sunday was nothing but go home day, so we made a day of it before... going home. We hiked over to a spot near the rapids and we swam for a little while and took many pictures and videos. We broke down the GIANT TEN-PERSON tent, packed up and left for home...

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend... And now here I am AT WORK. That's right, I seem to have a job all of a sudden. I'm answering phones @ K&P for the next week or so, and probably for the near future. This probably means I'll be updating this thing a bit more often.

Rock over Assyria! Rock on Chicago! Little Ceasar's; PIZZZA! PIZZA!

Heyall. Lots been going on. Most recent of which is this music video I justcame back from with Kamelya. Melnikof (the newly 'taken' Matt Mel - hooray Anne Marie) was there and played a pretty significant role. It was nice. We have two more days of shooting and then Brian will edit it.

Speaking of which, re-edits were needed on my final film this weekend because... IT MADE IT TO BEING CONSIDERED FOR TAKE ONE. YES. The bi-annual film festival for production I & II classes. "Frankly Chalk" will be considered for the festival this semester!

I am now going to Blaszczyk's to swim with him, Vicky, Heather, Ash and Natalie. And by 'swim' I mean fall to the bottom of the pool and sleep for a while... A LONG WHILE.
